Buddy Holly set refurb
A glimpse inside our scenic lead’s workbook when a hardworking set arrived in for some ‘TLC’ with our scenic refurbishment team during the summer with a very old paint kit returned from the depths of storage, old, rusty and solid.
Old canvas flats, with faded colours, split seams and fractured wood were taken into the workshop and after some meticulous planning from the scenic team the set is bought back to life.
Colours are worked out in detail, going back and forth to the original pictures and set pieces, until the team are in agreement.
Sourcing original glitter fabrics and cloths to work in with the original set sitting in the workshop. Each freestanding piece is sanded back to be mended, re painted and scenic effect re applied; whether wood graining on the pianos or buckets of iridescent bio glitter and new CNC logos the overall look is refreshed and read to ‘Rock and Roll’ for many more tours.
